WORM COMPOSTING THERMOMETER
Keep your worms environment perfect with the Worm Compost Thermometer.
You can use a Worm Composting Thermometer to measure the temperature of your worm bin bedding. The thermometer has a 8 inches probe that you stick into your worm bin to measure the temperature of the food / bedding mixture.
Monitoring the temperature of your bin, it is important to remember to measure inside the worm compost, because the temperature of the moist bedding is usually lower than the outside air temperature. It gives a readout between 0 and 140 degrees Fahrenheit and is color-coded to with the optimal temperature zones for worm composting.
Simply glance at the thermometer and you will instantly know what action you should take to maintain the worms’.

COLOR-CODED TEMPERATURE ZONES
COOL : 0-56°F
Because worms are coldblooded, they can’t regulate their own internal temperature like mammals can. At this stage, if your worm bin conditions are too cold, worms may congregate together in a ball that looks like ground hamburger meat to keep each other warm. If temperatures drop below 50° Fahrenheit (10° Celsius) will slow down worm activity, and below 40° Fahrenheit (4° Celsius) will kill your worms over an extended period.
HAPPY : 56-80°F
When most of us think of the perfect day, the temperature is usually between 60-80° Fahrenheit (16-27° Celsius). These temperatures are also the ideal temperatures for your worms. Red wiggler worms are happiest when the temperature is about between 56° and 80° Fahrenheit (13° to 26° Celsius). Commercial earthworm operations maintain their beds at temperatures between 60 and 80 degrees Fahrenheit, which are considered ideal for the growth and activity of earthworms.
WARM & HOT : 80-140°F
High heat and worm bins normally make a bad combination. If the temperature is too high or low, these effects will eventually damage the overall health of your worm bin. When the temperature becomes extreme either way, your worms will start to die or flee to more moderate temperatures. Temperatures above 80° Fahrenheit (27° Celsius) will slow down worm activity, and above 104° Fahrenheit (40° Celsius) will kill your worms quickly.
BECOMING A WORM COMPOSTING MASTER
Nothing can kill worms faster than extreme temperatures! Keep your worms out of danger with the Worm Farming Thermometer.
